Hailing from New York City, Blue Kid's music is a reflection of the Big Apple's liveliest and most romantic sides, with defiant anthems and melodic ballads that all pay tribute to the band's varied musical backgrounds. Rooted in the daydreams and adventures of their lead singer and songwriter-in-chief, Lydia Benecke, the group's sound is a sophisticated piano-driven fusion of pop, jazz, funk, and lyrical wit.

Blue Kid also won Flavorpill's 2011 National A Band Apart Competition.
